Victor Motta
Associate Professor at SKEMA Business School
Victor Motta holds a double major in Economics and Mathematics/Statistics from King University, MSc in Agricultural Economics and a PhD in Hospitality Finance from Penn State University. He currently serves as Associate Professor at SKEMA Business School. He is also a member of the OECD/INFE Research Advisory Group. Previously, he has worked in the hospitality industry in the UAE, Oman, Costa Rica, Egypt, Thailand, Russia and China. Professional working proficiency in Portuguese (native), Spanish, Italian and English and conversational proficiency in French, Arabic, Russian, and Chinese Mandarin. His research interests broadly focus on topics related to private sector development and business environment of SMEs, focusing on firms in the hospitality industry as well as other sectors of activity. He is also interested in research topics in applied microeconomics related to wine economics. His main publications have appeared at the Journal of Financial Stability, Small Business Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Tourism Economics and Journal of School Health, among others. In addition, his portfolio of empirical and consulting projects includes partnerships with the Central Bank of Brazil, CAF-Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Banco do Nordeste, the World Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank.
